FEB UMM Accounting Study Program had the opportunity to make an industrial visit to PT. Barata Indonesia on Monday, February 13 2023. This group consisted of several Accounting study program lecturers who are SSAC CoE teachers, as well as FEB UMM Semester 5 Accounting Study Program students who are SSAC CoE participants.
One of the objectives of the Industrial visit is to introduce the Business and Industrial World (DUDI) to students in order to open their insight and mindset regarding the actual conditions in the field. This activity is also very helpful in terms of practical knowledge, so that students can open their minds, try to think more broadly about the real world of work and how to create their own jobs.
Head of Accounting Study Program, Dr. Driana Leniwati., MSA., Ak., CA. said that industrial visits enable students to gain a lot of experience and knowledge, starting from selecting methods, exploitation, processing, management and utilization while maintaining environmental functions including work safety.
Furthermore, following up on the MoU with PT Barata Indonesia, several Accounting study program students will carry out industrial internships at one of the state-owned companies located in Gresik. With this internship program, it is hoped that it will provide students with sufficient experience in getting to know the workplace so that they will be better prepared later in entering the world of work and their careers. Apart from that, the importance of soft skills related to technology and the ability to solve problems is an important point that is used as input from each industry for graduates of the Accounting Study Program.
